Outdoor Level 11/6/2022

I further built upon my outdoor level this week by adding trees and water. Both of these elements required asset packs that were very large, so I imported them into a separate project and then migrated over just the assets I would need to save space. The water I chose was Reactive Water by Marvel Master. I set this up by copying over the water plane from the large open water demo level and adjusted it to fit the size of my level. The first person character I use does not have a mesh, which is needed to make the water react, so I copied the mesh from Reactive Water's Third Person Character into the first Person Character and made it invisible to the player to make the water react to your character. For the trees, I used the Realistic Forest Pack from digital tris. Unreal engine did not allow me to paint pre-made foliage instances, but it allowed me to drag the static meshes into the foliage painter and use those as foliage. I dragged in every tree mesh I wanted to use and adjusted the density to be thin enough to allow the player to move through the forest, then painted the terrain with foliage.
